    • Calico Blue is a band from Amherst, MA. With a lineup of bass, drums, guitar, and vocals, Calico Blue writes and performs songs with a unique western mass sound that blends jazz undertones with dream rock. During their live sets, Calico Blue strikes a delicately tasteful balance between care and abandon. The tamest songs from the album get people on their feet dancing, and the wildest tunes unleash double the energy when played live. Because of this constant ebb and flow between pristine clarity and raw musicality, no two shows are ever the same. A jazz-influenced improvisational mentality pervades every solo so each audience sees a different show. The dark lyrical content of each song contrasts the relaxed and almost goofy dispositions of the band members themselves. The chemistry and camaraderie of the four members of Calico Blue are on full display during their live performances and on their self-titled, independently released demo album.

Spirit Ghost blends together multiple influences, from Ty Segall to Astrud Gilberto and everything in between, to deliver their self ascribed Dead Tropical sound. In 2012 Spirit Ghost was the solo project of Alex Whitelaw, who would record and mix demos in a small cramped room of his childhood home. The band has since developed into a four piece live outfit, that delivers raw energetic performances drenched in reverb and delivered with brazen honesty. Spirit Ghost has opened for Born Ruffians, and Mathew Logan Vasquez from Delta Spirit, as well as headlined their own tour out to Davenport Iowa to play their own Daytrotter session. Spirit Ghost just needs one chance to haunt your brain with the melodic dynamism that makes them so addictive.  Spirit Ghost's most recent release is their self titled EP that was recorded and mixed by Chris McLaughlin as part of a Converse Rubber Tracks session in Boston. On the EP the band simultaneously dives into their Dead Tropical style while selectively pulling from their wide array of influences to create something new and exciting but with a familiar touch.
