    • Tom Rush's impact on acoustic/folk music has been profound. One of the early fixtures of Jac Holzman's renegade Elektra label, he helped shape the folk revival in the '60s and has been a catalyst for and beneficiary of the cyclical folk renaissances of every decade since. James Taylor said, "Tom was not only one of my early heroes, but also one of my main influences." Garth Brooks has credited Rush with being one of his top five musical influences. Rush has long championed emerging artists, initially as a DJ on Harvard's WHRB.. His early recordings introduced the world to the work of Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne and James Taylor, and in more recent years artists such as Nanci Griffith and Shawn Colvin. Of his new video documentary, No Regrets, Tom says, "you can learn something, but not everything, about my sordid past." He also reports. "we recorded the Symphony Hall show at the end of December with Red Molly, Monica Rizzio and Grace Kelly. The music that night was exceptional (for my part I debuted five new songs) and a CD is in the works, though I won’t promise a delivery date at this point."
